“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me, To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;” Luke 4:18
In the 10 / 10 vision of the sun rising over California, I saw 10 stadiums filled in 10 cities with Luke 4:18 gatherings! The Gospel was being preached to the poor (literally and spiritually). People’s hearts (emotionally and mentally) were being completely healed! Those with addictions (captives) were being set free! Those with physical illness (the blind) were being healed. The blinders were being removed from those who were spiritually blind. The demonized (oppressed) were being delivered! It was a day of freedom in California!!!
This passage from Isaiah 61 was read by Jesus as he was beginning his ministry. I believe this was His mission statement for his ministry and should be the mission statement of the church of Jesus Christ!
The truth is, no one, not even Jesus, can perform this ministry of healing and freedom without The Spirit of God being upon him / her. There must be an anointing from the Holy Spirit to do the ministry of healing, deliverance, and freedom.
Let’s pray for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit to anoint a new generation who will move in the power of the Spirit to perform the ministry of Jesus!
Prayer:
God, refill me with the Holy Spirit and anoint me and your church to do the works of Jesus. Set me free so that I can be an agent of freedom to those around me who are bound, addicted, sick, injured. I make your mission, my great commission. During the 10 Days of Hope California, Oct 1-10, may the Holy Spirit be poured out as teams hit the streets every day to demonstrate your love and power. Amen!
